Oakmerefield is a local information archive focused on mechanical keyboards and the growing custom-build scene in Singapore. The articles published here cover switch comparisons, keycap material breakdowns, soldering walkthroughs and curated lists of vendors operating within the city-state.

Background

The site grew out of a personal reference document maintained by a small group of keyboard enthusiasts based in Singapore. Over time the notes expanded into structured articles, and Oakmerefield was registered in 2024 as a way to share that accumulated knowledge with a wider local audience.

All content is written in-house. Where technical specifications are cited, the original manufacturer datasheets serve as the primary source. Switch force measurements referenced in articles follow ISO 9241-410 actuation-force methodology unless otherwise noted.

Editorial Approach

Articles aim for a neutral, descriptive tone. Comparisons present measurable differences — actuation force, travel distance, material composition — rather than subjective rankings. Vendor listings are included for informational purposes and do not imply endorsement or commercial arrangement.
